Brownies of Montclair, VA Troop 3305 donate
cookies to Wounded Warriors

Girl Scouts Donating Girl Scout cookies to our Wounded Warriors are (L-R, front row) Brownies Dana Marcucci, Lindsey Patton, E. McPeak and Isabella Adams.  2nd row are Doug Taggart, Azalea Charities’ President & CEO and Bartty Adams, Troop 3305 Cookie Manager.

Girl Scout cookie season brings up images of thin mints, peanut butter chocolate Tagalongs and other favorites that we all have enjoyed for years. True to their mission of serving the community, the girls of Brownie Troop 3305, part of the Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capitol (GSCNC), wanted to donate some cookies to help the Wounded Warriors of our nation.  Bartty Adams and April McPeak, Brownie mothers from Montclair, Virginia, helped the girls organize this effort and approached Azalea Charities with a donation of ten boxes of Girl Scout cookies. These will be delivered to Fischer House this Wednesday (6/23/10) by Azalea Board Member Frank Chichka.

Fischer House is located in Washington DC, near to Walter Reed Army Medical Center.  Its mission is to support America's military in their time of need, by providing "a home away from home" that enables family members to be close to a loved one at the most stressful time -- during hospitalization for an illness, disease or injury. We applaud these girls for their generous donation to help ease our recovering military personnel and their families.
