CrisisLink honors Azalea Charities and Prince Leopold d’Arenberg at LinkUp & Listen gala
On Saturday, April 12, 2008, the community came out in force to help CrisisLink celebrate 39 years of service to the greater Washington, D.C. metropolitan region at LinkUp & Listen, their annual gala and auction event.
CrisisLink honored several individuals and organizations for their distinguished leadership and contributions to improve services available to those in crisis or seeking health and human services. Among those honored were Prince Leopold d’Arenberg of Belgium and Azalea Charities, Inc. for “their deep commitment to our nation’s wounded soldiers who have given so much, and for raising funds and partnering with CrisisLink to help the Army’s Wounded Soldier and Family Hotline meet the many challenges these soldiers and their families face.”
Prince d'Arenberg, on behalf of Azalea Charities and himself, presented to Keith Taylor and Brigadier Jones a check in the amount of $10,000.00 to the British Army Benevolent Fund America in support of their wounded men and women. Azalea Charities’ President and CEO, Frank Lasch, reaffirmed the commitment of Azalea Charities to support this worthy cause. He also affirmed Azalea Charities' support of CrisisLink's training program to serve the Army and Family 24/7 Hotline.
CrisisLink raised over $82,000 at this annual event. Honorary Co-Chairs were Congressman Jim Moran, U.S. Representative, Virginia's 8th District; Sheila L. Casey, COO, The Hill, wife of U.S. Army Chief of Staff General George Casey, Jr.; and Annette Conway, wife of Commandant of the Marines General James Conway.
