CFS is incredibly grateful to all of the sponsors and contributors who made this event possible. Some of the donated items included a signed Redskins football by Washington Redskins player Chris Horton, a two night stay at any Starwood Hotel in the U.S., art pieces varying from paintings to photographs, and handcrafted jewelry sets made specifically for this charitable event. Raffle prizes were also donated in the form of gift certificates, golf products, and special passes for a fun day of golf.
The progress of this tournament over the years has been overwhelming. In 2008, the Chenega Invitational hosted 80 players, and raised $17,000. In 2009, the Chenega Invitational hosted 98 players and raised $20,000. To have risen over $35,000 for this amazing charity in 2010 is incredible and heartwarming. The money raised this year will go towards the Aid for Wounded Warriors project, which purpose is to lift the spirits and enhance the morale of military men and women who have been injured in the line of duty. Part of the proceeds will also go to a newly adopted foundation by Azalea Charities called the Quality of Life Foundation. Special guest at the tournament, Executive Director Kim Munoz, expressed her deepest appreciation to Azalea and to CFS for the support the fundraising will provide.
Chenega Federal Systems will continue to support the community through charitable events and looks forward to next year’s 5th Annual Chenega Invitational.
