Aid for Wounded Warriors partners with
Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market to launch Side by Side limited edition California wines
Azalea Charities' "Aid for Wounded Warriors" (AWW) is proud to once again partner with Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market. As a special summer fundraiser for AWW, Fresh & Easy has launched a new wine label, aptly named Side by Side. The two limited edition California wines bottled under label will be available in Fresh & Easy stores from June 15th to July 4th as we recall the gift and sacrifice made by military men and women and their families.
Side by Side pays tribute to the ongoing partnership between the armed forces of the United States and the United Kingdom. The Side by Side wines include a Cabernet Sauvignon and a Pinot Grigio bottled by Delicato Family Vineyards in Napa.
One dollar ($1 USD) from the sale of each bottle of Side by Side wine will go directly to Azalea Charities’ Aid for Wounded Warriors (AWW) and used to support AWW’s mission of supporting the needs our wounded heroes have which are not filled by military or VA services.
The label features an original Expressionist painting by internationally known artist and Air Force veteran Dean Baer that captures the spirit of comradeship enjoyed by the Allied Forces who fight together for the cause of freedom. Commissioned by Azalea Charities, the Side by Side image has traveled the world to spread the message of Aid for Wounded Warriors. From its introduction during a formal event at the British Embassy in 2008, prints of Side-by-Side now hang in tents of military personnel deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan to show our troops that they are not forgotten, and on the walls of VA hospitals to inspire wounded warriors. The original painting is owned by British Royal Engineer Commando Corporal Ross Austin, a British veteran wounded in battle, a print was presented to Frank Buckles, then the oldest survivor of World War I, and copies are owned by supporters of Aid for Wounded Warriors internationally. With the introduction of Side by Side wine, we look forward to connecting with supporters who will join us in our mission of helping wounded warriors and their families.
Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market has previously supported Aid for Wounded Warriors and remains a valuable partner in our charitable mission.
