Side by Side
honoring the partnership between the armed forces of the US and UK

Commissioned by Azalea Charities, the Side by Side image has traveled the world to spread the message of Aid for Wounded Warriors.  From its 2008 introduction during a formal event at the British Embassy, prints of Side-by-Side now hang in tents of military personnel deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan to show our troops that they are not forgotten, and on the walls of VA hospitals to inspire wounded warriors.  The original painting is owned by Ross Austin, a print was presented to Frank Buckles, then the oldest survivor of World War I, and copies are owned by supporters of Aid for Wounded Warriors internationally.  With the introduction of Side by Side wine, we look forward to connecting with supporters who will join us in our mission of helping wounded warriors and their families.

“Beyond the strategic relationship, so many of us from both nations have fought literally side by side, that this modern relationship between the US and UK military means a great deal to us.  It has a depth and an emotion to it that is profound... “

Commemorative Painting Series

As part of our commitment to honor our wounded heroes, Azalea Charities has worked with Dean Baer, nationally known artist and Air Force veteran, to create a series of original paintings. These works commemorate US warriors and the partnerships with other nations formed to fight the war on terror. Azalea Charities sells the paintings, prints and note cards to raise funds for Aid for Wounded Warriors.

Proud Warrior, the first of this series of paintings was commissioned by Azalea Charities to acknowledge wounded warriors all over the world.

Side by Side honors the partnership between the armed forces of the US and UK.
